Before Noah, Enoch walked with Yah. Before Moses, Enoch walked with Yah. Before Samson, Enoch walked with Yah. Before Samuel, Nehemiah, and King David, Enoch walked with Yah. Before Elijah, Solomon, and Ezekiel, Enoch walked with Yah. Before Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, Enoch walked with Yah. Before John the Baptist, he who was the messenger sent before the coming of the Savior. Enoch walked with Yah. And before the corruption that would come upon the word at the hands of the gentiles, Enoch walked with Yah. All these men tasted of death, and so too awaits that end for the corruption brought forth by the gentiles, but Enoch walked with Yah, and was not because Yah took him.

Enoch walked with Yah, and death came not upon him because he walked with the Most High. How do you know this many will asked? And the answer lies in, “It is written.” We read in Genesis 5:1 about the generations of Adam.

We read in Gen 5:3 And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth.

Gen 5:4 And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years; and he begat sons and daughters:

Gen 5:5 And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years; and he died.

This theme continues throughout with Seth, who lived an hundred and five years, and begat Enos. And Seth lived and begat sons, and daughters, and all the days that Seth lived were nine hundred and twelve years; and he died. Likewise also, Enos lived, and Cainan lived, and Mahalaleel lived, and Jared lived. All these men lived, begetting sons, and daughters, then they died.

In Gen 5:18 we continue with Jared, who lived an hundred sixty and two years, and he begat Enoch. And Jared lived nine hundred and sixty and two years; and he died. But with Enoch there comes a subtle change. Gen 5:21 For Enoch starts out like his Father, and his ancestors before him. Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah, but after the birth of his son, Methuselah, with Enoch there is a change. In stead of it reading, And Enoch lived, as it read for Jared, Mahalaleel, Cainan, Enos, Seth, and Adam, Gen 5:22 reads; And Enoch walked with Elohim after he begat Methuselah. Enoch’s relationship to life changed, instead of having an existence in living, Enoch chose the principles to everlasting life. Enoch walked with Yah.

Adam walked not with Yah, he lived. Seth walked not with Yah, he lived. Enos walked not with Yah, he lived. Cainan walked not with Yah, he lived. Mahalaleel walked not with Yah, he lived. Jared walked not with Yah, he lived. These men lived and died, yet Enoch walked with Yah, and was not. Death came not upon his life. Enoch chose the principles for life, and Yah took him. Enoch walked with Yah.

What does it mean to walk with Yah? It is the action of ones’s mind pure from adulterated spiritual thought. The unleavened spiritual mind, undefiled, completely saturated in the understanding of Yah’s word, and that with obedience. It is the action of mind in continuous communication with Yah, the forsaking of the tree of knowledge from within.

So the question that begs to be answered is, “How does one walk with Yah(God)?” Consider the first Psalm, and listen closely for in it we see what Enoch did to walk with Yah.

Psalms 1 Blessed is the man who walketh not in the council of the ungodly…, Once again I  must state, Yah is Spirit. The key to understanding biblical symbolism, and metaphors, lies not in seeking a physical interpretation for understanding, but one of spirit leading to the repentance of mind, or soul within. When we read this first verse, it speaks not to a physical walk with evil men, but an act of mind within. The word council indicates pondering, or giving heed to ungodly suggestions.

Do you not recall Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden? Was not the conversation with the serpent adhering to the council of the ungodly? Were they blessed, or cursed? Was this an act of walking with Yah, or the ungodly? So from the garden’s fall we understand the statement, Enoch walked with Yah. His was the way of mind, or soul, in complete obedience to Yah’s every word. Before we see the Master demonstrate this truth when he too was tempted like unto Adam in the wilderness, and he spoke these words in triumph, “Man shall not leave by bread alone, but by every word of Yah; Enoch walked with Yah in complete obedience to his every word, and he pleased God.

Let us consider the words, complete obedience. The word complete represents, total-absolute, adherence to Yah’s word, without heedlessness. When Yah’s word states Enoch walked with Yah, it is saying all Enoch’s thoughts within (consciousness) were in total, absolute submission to Yah’s word. Whereas, his Father, Grandfather, and  the others leading back to Adam only lived. Can you not hear them saying, “What shall we eat, or what shall we drink, even, what shall we wear?” Are these not the thoughts of those caring for the needs of the flesh consumed with day to day living?

Can you not hear the Master’s voice as he speaks to the multitude up in the mountain? Would his words not have set Enoch’s forefathers on the path called straight, and like Enoch, began a walk with Yah? Hear Yahushua’s words again, and consider the path at your feet. “No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. You cannot serve Yah and mammon.”

Enoch chose to serve Yah? How do you know this some will say? The history of Enoch is vague. Read again Genesis 5:21-24 with eyes open hoping to receive the understanding called truth. Gen 5:21 And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah: Gen 5:22 And Enoch walked with Yah after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and he begat sons and daughters.

Like his forefathers before him, Enoch rose every morning with his thoughts on living, providing for the outer man, like many do today. For sixty-five years Enoch lived, his thoughts were on, “What shall I eat, what shall I drink, and with what shall I be covered.” Then after the birth of his son, Methuselah, Enoch began to walk with Yah. With Yah’s subtle wording we see Enoch undergoing a powerful change, a change from the seeking for self first, to the seeking of Yah. Does not his actions demonstrate the word we know as repentance? Can you not hear the Master’s voice in Enoch subtle change? Hear him again. “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and its righteousness, and all things shall be added unto you. Enoch sought wise council, and began to walk with Yah.

The word reads; “Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.” Enoch chose to establish his ways in Yehovah, and this pleased Yah. And his reward, he tasted not of death and entered into everlasting life.
